The Wills Fellowship, supported by the Jesse E. Wills Memorial Fund, promotes the scholarly use of the Tennessee Historical Society’s collections, housed at the Tennessee State Library and Archives. The collections are particularly strong in the frontier, Jacksonian, antebellum, and Civil War eras. Research likely to lead to the publication of an article in the Tennessee Historical Quarterly will receive the highest consideration. Wills Fellows receive a $500 stipend to fund a week of research in the collections.
