--Maj. Ashley W. "Bill" Fisher, III Memorial U.S. Military History Award Sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars
This award features a $50 prize awarded to the best project in the Junior Division and the best project in the Senior Division focusing on U.S. Military strategy, conflict, war, or person.
--Margaret Lindsley Warden Prize for the Best Project in Women's History sponsored by the Tennessee Historical Society
This award features a $50 cash prize to the best project in the Junior Division and the best project in the Senior Division which interprets women's history.
--Tennessee Historical Society Prize for the Best Project in Tennessee History
This award features a $50 cash prize and is presented to the best project in the Senior Division and in the Junior Division on a Tennessee history topic.
--Tennessee Historical Society Prize for the Best Project in African- American History
This award features a $50 cash prize and is presented to the best project in the Senior Division and in the Junior Division on a topic in African-American history.
--Society of Tennessee Archivists Award for Archival Research
$50 will be awarded to the best History Day project in both the Junior Division and Senior Division that uses primary sources such as letters, diaries, personal papers, photographs, etc., for research on a historical topic. The sources must be from an institution located in Tennessee. Primary sources in Tennessee can be found in archival repositories such as city or county archives, church archives, history museums, local history departments in libraries, or the Tennessee State Library and Archives. Special consideration will be given to students who do onsite research at the repository rather than using online resources.
--Dr. Sam B. Smith Memorial Award
The Dr. Sam B. Smith Memorial Award is given to the first place winner in the Senior Individual Paper category. It is a $50 cash prize that is given anonymously by a former student of Dr. Smith's.
