Please join the Tennessee Historical Society for our annual membership meeting featuring guest speaker Dale Cockrell of Vanderbilt University. A professor of Musicology at Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music, Cockrell will discuss the Pa's Fiddle project. An educational enterprise dedicated to producing records of the music embedded in the Little House on the Prairie books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, the Pa's Fiddle Project has produced two CD's, Happy Land: Musical Tributes to Laura Ingalls Wilder and The Arkansas Traveler: Music From Little House on the Prairie.
Admission to this program is free and open to the public, however reservations are requested. Please e-mail us at membership@tennesseehistory.org or call the office at 615-741-8934 to reserve a spot.
The Tennessee State Museum is located in downtown Nashville at 505 Deaderick Street. Free parking is available after 5 p.m. in the state parking lots to the north and west of the Tennessee State Capitol. Attendees should enter the Polk building through the main entrance located on Deaderick Street.
